National President Terri MacCannell to visit District 2

The National President of Kin Canada, Terri MacCannell, will be paying a visit to District 2 from Feb 15 – 18.  She will be arriving in Winnipeg on the evening of February 15, and a meet and greet will be hosted by the All Saints Kinsmen at 30 Chesterfield Avenue, with all Kinsmen and Kinettes welcome to attend. The following day, she will be traveling to The Pas to enjoy the Northern Manitoba Trappers’ Festival and take part in the festivities.  On Sunday the 18th, she will be present to induct the newest club in the Association, the Kinette Club of The Pas. Kinette Club of Stonewall to host Ladies’ Night Out on March 3

Join the Stonewall Kinettes for their Ladies’ Night Out social on Saturday, March 3 at the Stonewall Parochial Hall at 435 1st Ave N.  The theme is 50’s, 60’s, and Elvis.  Dinner will be served at 6:30, followed by music, dancing, and a draw for a diamond pendant door prize. Kinsmen to host Vermilion Bay Kin Karnival Feb 22-25

The Kinsmen club of Vermilion Bay is hard at work preparing for the 52nd annual Vermilion Bay Kin Karnival, which will kick off on February 22 and run to February 25.  It will be a busy four days packed with fun events for the entire family, kicking off with Kinette Family Night on Thursday night and ending with the main event on Sunday, the Kin Family Fish Derby.  Other highlights include the Kin Karnival Queen contest where three local teens will compete for the crown on Friday Feb 23, a Smash Brothers gaming tournament on Saturday the 24th, and many other fun events like curling funspiels, spaghetti suppers, and dances.  It’s sure to be a great time!  For more information, you can contact Kinsmen Scott Read More

Kinsmen Club of Grandview Donate $20,000 to Grandview Rec Commission

On January 27, the Kinsmen Club of Grandview presented the Grandview Rec. Commission with a donation of $20,000.00!!! This donation is going towards the new community building in Wilson Park which will house a new concession , accessible washrooms and shower facility. Without the help from Community groups like the Grandview Kinsmen, projects such as this one would not be possible.

District Executive Meets for Mid-Term Conference January 20

Your district executive got together on January 20 in Winnipeg to hold their annual mid-term conference.  On the agenda were updates from Governor Dave, Vice Governors, Deputy Governors, and Directors, updates from Kin Canada and the National Board of Directors, discussion around updating certain aspects of the district awards, and planning for National Day of KINdness, Spring Zones, and National Convention.  All in all, it was a productive weekend, with a great opportunity for the team to come together and share ideas.  Stay tuned for updates from your Deputy Governors, and start getting your clubs ready for National Day of KINdness and Spring Zones as they are right around the corner!

Carman Kinettes award $100 in first ever Carman Cash Bucks giveaway

Myla Heinrichs was the lucky winner of the Carman Kinettes Carman Cash Bucks giveaway this week. To enter, participants had to like and follow the Carman Kinettes Facebook or Instagram page, tag 3 friends, and share the contest post.  For every 3 friends they tagged, their name was entered into the draw.  Carman Cash Bucks can be redeemed for merchandise at participating local businesses. Danny Halpin joins District 2 executive team as new Social Media Director

Following the relocation of former Social Media Director David Harmon to District 3, Danny Halpin has agreed to fill the role of Social Media Director for the remainder of the 2017-2018 Kin year. Danny has been a proud member of Kin Canada since 2013.  He gained a fair amount of social media experience in summer 2017 with his “Marathon for CF” campaign, and hopes to bring that same energy and experience to this new role. “A Splashy Affair” to be held in Stonewall on Saturday, January 20th

On Saturday, January 20th, the Stonewall Kinsmen and Kinettes are holding a fundraising dinner to raise money for a new splash pad at the Kinsmen Lake facility.  Tickets cost $100.00 and tables of 8 can be reserved. The theme is “a splashy affair” featuring a 4 course dinner prepared with local fare and Manitoba chefs. The dinner also serves to honour past, present and future Kin and the legacies they have created and built upon. The dinner will be held at the beautiful heritage centre in Quarry park, cocktails at 5:00 with dinner to follow at 6:00. Two Bits Go A Long Way for Hill City Kinettes

On Thursday, November 23rd, 2017, the Hill City Kinettes held their 12th Annual Two-Bit Auction at the CLE Heritage Building. The event was sold out and our biggest numbers to date. There were many happy bidders at the end of the night, taking home gorgeous gift baskets, some valued up to $300.
