Highlights of the 2018 Kin National Convention in Sarnia, Ontario

On August 15-18, 19 members of District 2 made the long voyage to Sarnia, Ontario for Kin Canada’s 98th annual National Convention.  For many, it was their first convention, and their experiences over the weekend will surely not be forgotten for some time. District 2 once again showed why they are known as one of the strongest districts in Canada, winning their third consecutive Outstanding District Award under the leadership of 2017-2018 Governor Dave Roberts. The district was also represented well through other awards, with Kinette Marie Miles winning the Outstanding Maple Leaf Award of Distinction, Gord Patterson winning a Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Flin Flon Kinsmen receiving an honourable mention for their service project, the Pub-Putt Fundraiser for CF.  Members of D2 were active Read More

Thompson Kin to organize first ever mud run in September

Following in the footsteps of the Kinsmen Club of The Pas, who held a successful mud run on Sept 2, 2017, the Thompson Kin Club are in the early planning stages to hold a similar mud run event in Thompson this September.  This would be the first ever event of this kind to be held in Thompson.  The club is excited to be able to offer this event in their hometown, eliminating the need for residents to travel to other communities to participate.  They hope to use this event to boost community pride and morale, as well as raise funds to help with other projects and causes throughout the year.
