On May 6, 2017 the Neepawa Kin Club celebrated 40 years of Kin in the Town of Neepawa. The Kinsmen Club of Neepawa originally chartered on November 22, 1976, the Kinette Club was chartered soon after and in 2002 the decision to amalgamate the two clubs and the Neepawa Kin Club was created.
The Neepawa Kin Club was the first official Kin Club in District 2. Kin has a rich history in Neepawa and can be seen in a number of bricks and mortar sites throughout the Town of Neepawa. Kinsmen Kourts was opened in 1981 to provide affordable seniors housing, a number of small play parks have also been build and the Kin name is proudly displayed.
Other community contributions over the years include a bursary to an NACI Grad, sponsoring a local Boy Scoutt’s Troupe, and assisting many other organizations such as the Roxy Theater, 4-H, HMK School, Victoria’s Quilts etc.
Neepawa Kin Club has also been an active member in District 2 and Zone F(6). The Neepawa Kin Club members have served on many councils, and take pride in involving themselves in National Service Projects such as National Day of Kindness, HREF and most recently was a Bill Skelly Award Winner for CF. The Neepawa Kin Club is a small but busy and mighty club. They are always looking for new members to join and to continue giving the gift of Kin while Serving the Community’s Greatest Needs.
